Broad Experience

With almost 3 decades of insurance and treasury management experience I help clients prepare for the unknown and protect their financial and physical assets. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, mining, telecommunications, hospitality, non-profit and insurance. Certifications include Certified Treasury Professional and Certified Risk Manager.

Whether you need assistance in building and managing a Treasury Department or managing your organization's insurance and risk management I can provide flexible solutions including acting as a part time Risk Manager, interim Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer or consultant to provide expertise on a projects such as M&A. I can be your Rent-a-Treasurer to Rent-a-Risk Manager!

Building Relationships

Strong relationships with your financial providers are critical. This includes your banks, rating agencies, insurance brokers, insurance carrier and other insurance related vendors such as TPA's and safety consultants. I can help to build existing relationships to improve risk analysis and coverage or assist in selecting new relationships if a new direction is needed to provide the best protection for your company. I have worked with international banks/brokers, large national banks/brokers and regional and local banks/brokers.

Experience Matters

Management

Executive experience including managing large teams of people. Budget authority for more than $25M. Experience presenting to and interfacing with board of directors. Strong leadership and communication skills including employee development.

Treasury

Vice President/Treasurer experience in privately and publicly owned companies. Experience in implementing and managing debt programs as large as $2B including indemnity bonds, cash flow bank lines, lease programs and asset based lines.  Experience in hedging financial products and commodities. Deep knowledge in establishing and managing Cash Management systems.  I can provide ongoing assistance in implementing or managing debt and cash systems or short term leadership to cover leaves of absence and other project based needs that may come up with mergers and acquisition activities. 

Risk Management

Expertise in domestic and international insurance. Strong skills in risk assessment and risk transfer techniques. Claims knowledge including workers compensation, auto, general liability, large property claims ($25M+), employment practices, fiduciary and directors and officers class action claims. Companies sometimes need deep risk management expertise but do not need a full time Risk Manager. I can provide that expertise on a part time or on a retainer basis based on needs. This includes one time review of risk programs, annual renewals, claims management or project work such as with mergers and acquisitions.
